LOREN horsager

Co-Founder | CEO

Loren has led multiple technology companies and managed hundreds of development projects prior to founding Mobile Composer in 2013. Based on his 20+ years of experience, he believed that when companies develop software products, they should focus on the parts of the solution that make their application truly unique and not rebuild standard components. He created the Mobile Composer Platform™ to address this need. By creating standard, best practices components on which to build, companies reduce risk, improve speed to market and ensure a consistent level of quality.

Loren is active in STEM education efforts, working with students of all age ranges to explore technology projects and learn about how technology can make a difference. He is a regular speaker and mentor in the Minnesota startup community. His presentation–Generating Reoccurring Revenue by Developing Software Products helps small business owners understand how they can improve their valuation by creating proprietary software apps.

Catherine has 25+ years of experience in marketing and developing business for technology companies, prior to founding Mobile Composer in 2013. She understands how software solutions can solve real world problems and develops strategies that connect with customers and drive revenue.

The Mobile Composer Story

On a cold day in 2013, Loren Horsager, Mobile Composer’s CEO, was driving and thinking–two of his favorite things to do! After 20+ years of developing software apps, he saw the same challenges over and over again. The process was often cumbersome, inconsistent and lengthy. The challenges seemed to be even more complex with advent of mobile technology.

How could he make the process of creating software products easier? How could companies surface the most innovative ideas quicker?  Could they get to market faster in a way that leveraged best practices for development and minimized risk?

He called his friend Catherine Gillis, who appreciated his big brain and they started talking. What if there was a platform that standardized all the components that were required and you customized on top of the platform?  It made sense, but what did others think?

 After talking to hundreds of people who worked in financial services, health care, manufacturing and professional services, from small venture start-ups to global enterprises, the idea had traction.

Once again, driving, this time on a road trip with a friend, Loren thought about what to call the new venture. (Catherine had her own ideas, but Loren wasn’t satisfied!) He came back to the office and asked what about Mobile Composer? That’s ultimately what we are doing-giving people a better way to compose world-class apps.

 Since 2013, Mobile Composer has been dedicated to:
